Have you ever thought about tai chi? I've not ever tried it but it might be something of interest.

Gardnr my husband was doing that shuffling. He didn't notice it, I did. We found out later (to my distress since we didn't address it sooner) that it was from mini strokes he was having that were affecting his balance. He was also walking miles every day. Mention it to her and have it checked. We could have possibly avoided the major stroke that came later.
I liked Tai Chi but I have back problems and it made them much worse. I didn’t like yoga but you don’t know until you try.
there is a yoga for balance and falling class. My aunt has taken it and raves about it. I need to find one myself...I fall a lot.
Float On: My "Happy Place" is on my little kayak in the coves of Table Rock Lake.
