Can I guy a VISA e-gift card without a purchase fee?

I'm having trouble figuring this out. I try to avoid plastic gift cards since they end up in the earth. I'm trying to buy a VISA e-gift card that I can print off. Is this possible?
I'm having trouble understanding all the info out there on it.
    Thanks!

No, you canít. The Visa/MC gift cards all have the fee.

The only way to get around the fee is to buy a gift card for a specific store, send cash, or a check.

ETA: just saw itís an e-gift card. Didnít even know those existed for Visa/MC. Suspect the same still applies.

You might consider a gift card for Amazon or eBay if you want a card with a wide choice of purchasing options for the recipient.

Thanks Tradd and rosarugosa. I ended up buying specific store e-gift cards, since I couldn't find any VISA e-gift cards anywhere. Those boogers.

Your bank might offer them, but another way to avoid that fee, is just to give cash.

It is amazing how many places accept that stuff.
