Where do young-adults go for help?

All of the good things my parents do
    they ruin with their control-problems.

    1) I have stage 2 liver-failure.
Both mom and dad make fun of me
when I try to eat healthy fruits, nuts
and vegetables. There's never a day
that goes by when I'm called down to
eat fatty foods for breakfast and dinner.

They only want to eat waffles, bacon,
    steak, cheeseburgers, take-out pizza,
chinese-food etc; and yell at me when
    I politely decline.

    2) Dad has severe anger-problems plus
    multiple-schlerosis and talks to everyone
in our family like we belong in jail. It got so
bad he would swerve on the freeway and
threaten to drive off the edge; or crash into
    another car.

    I'm at a loss on how to work with them;
and then, I have to deal with getting a
career going in this troubled-economy too?

I don't know if this is normal? please help!!!

What face-to-face resources are available in your community?

Not many. I know there's a homeless shelter about 5 miles from here. And a few unemployment-offices. I don't know where else to go?

In my community, and many of the other nearby ones, there are "family resource centers" that basically serve as clearinghouses to point you at all the various programs and resources available in your community, and help you navigate them.

Often libraries will have the ability to help you locate other resources.

It sounds like you are living in an emotionally abusive home and no, that isn't normal.

You could try this website and calling 211:
    https://www.211la.org/

I have no idea if it's good, I got it from an old fridge magnet of all things. But worth a try to call 211.

You could try going to an adult children of alcoholics (and dysfunctional families) meeting. It's a 12 step group. It's free. Some "adult children of alcoholics" groups are only for children of alcoholics (and you don't mention alcohol or drug abuse in your family) but about half are also for children of dysfunctional families even if there isn't any substance abuse. And yes you definitely have a dysfunctional family. But dysfunctional families are not that uncommon unfortunately.

I am curious why you think the resources for young adults would be any different than would be serving assistance for anyone else.

Look online, ask friends for ideas, visit your church, local health unit, doctor's office, employment office, library as suggested above. You have to go to them and talk to them. This is true for all ages.
As Cicero said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”

You have asked several questions in the same vein on this website and have received many fine answers.

What will you do tomorrow to get closer to the path you are seeking? Sitting in your room asking questions of strangers on the internet will not move you forward much. We do not have The Answer for you.

But hey—since you are good at math and you like serving people and solving kids’ math problems, do you know how desperate public schools are for math teachers? They simply cannot get enough, hereabout anyway (St. Louis, MO.)
Have you thought about that as a career ? Someone mentioned on your earlier thread a way to try that out.

Do you currently work full time? Do you have health insurance? Are you parents supportive of paying for your college costs? Do you have any college work under your belt?

you keep asking abpit sustainable work and living spaces. In the broad sense, there is no such thing. Self actualized, mentally healthy humans should expect to be flexible to deal with life changes.
