But red white is different than white--maybe that is the difference.

When I find something that is working for my body, I will report back, thanks.
Can't wait to hear where you settle in for food lifestyle! I too am still searching.....there is dark chocolate, pasta and a fabulous chocolate chip cookie in my future..............I won't do a denial lifestyle. I need to learn to have a little on occasion as opposed to a LOT!

IL: I thought you had always been a red wine drinker?

I was able to shed a few pounds last year just by cutting back on wine consumption and sweets. I am a lightweight even at my heavier weight, but my pants fit more comfortably if I'm carrying less of that sugar weight that settles in the middle. I can't really solve the issue by going up a size, because then pants are too big in the hips, thigh and butt. I have zero tolerance for clothes that are too tight. My little sister, who is quite a bit bigger than me, lost 15 lbs last year just by giving up sweets. She would not indulge in so much as a Hershey's kiss. She says "sugar is my heroin." She does well with the all or nothing approach. I'm not a sweets addict, but I like them well enough and will eat the stuff if it's around and there was less of it around while she was off sugar. She is off sugar again, so that is probably good for me too. I find wine much more enticing, but it has quite a few calories, so just trying to consume a bit less of it.

For the past year I’ve been drinking Scotch. I had respiratory infections, and wine tasted like crap. Those infections are gone, and I can go back to red wine, but there is a slight caloric difference.

Ww points: 3 pts for 3 ounces Scotch

WW points: 4 pts for 5 oz red wine

My daily points allowance is 30 which is very generous when you consider fruits and vegetable count as 0. Plus, you get a weekly alottment to spread over the week.

oh wait, if you mean by changing anything sure,
i now exercise daily for 30 minutes, but that has been going on since late December. It doesn't account for this recent 4+ lb loss in ten days. Anyway, enough about me.

I do think that drinking LOTS of water makes a difference in weight loss, for me anyway.

That's pretty much how I have been eating, but no weight loss.
I plan to just keep experimenting until I find what works.
