Is medical coding a fun career?

    I enjoy learning about anatomy
    and medical-terminology. I think
entering codes all day would be

fun. Plus, I get to work from home.

What do you think? Thank You.

I think rather than posting yet another thread about the same subject, it might be nice to answer some of the questions folks have asked you.

hey there, congratulations on doing some research into what career field might be good for you. I don’t know anything about medical transcription, sorry!

But it sounds like you are moving forward to make something happen in your life. Good job.

Medical transcription of doctors notes could be interesting. Medical coding AKA billing would be boring. But we will never know which one Rainbow wants as s/he never responds to comments.

I worked for a service bureau for a couple of years doing data entry. It is essentially a factory job, with paper. You’re asked to do as much as you can, as fast as you can. If you don’t like the idea of having to do the same type of work over and over again, and quickly, you might want to reconsider.

Are you on salary? Paid by the hour? Is it piece work? If you don’t know what is customary, you might want to look beforehand. I worked on an hourly basis. I had colleagues who could work being paid piece work. There’s no way I could make that pay enough.
