Stars aligning: Pandemic + General Election

So, we've been talking coronavirus and we've been talking election, but it's time to recognize that they are not discrete events. The virus is now going to have a powerful impact on the election.

When Bernie did not-so-well last night, I told my husband that in the eyes of the voters, a revolutionary/insurrectionist is not going to do well in the face of medical and economic threats. The fear of the unknown killed Bernie last night--not Joe Biden.

    Thoughts?

At the rate our government is screwing up in the face of the mass of knowledge, we need something/someone new.

Trump has lost a lot of leverage on the economy, which was one or the main talking point a few weeks ago. How the virus plays out and how well his deceitful responses go over with his base and the rest of us is probably going to be important. Donald's tax cuts are generally popular even if they don't really help the economy. There could be a change horses in the middle of the stream thought about switching leaders in the middle of a health epidemic could play. Cvid-19 definitely changes how things will play out, but a lot of unknowns. Biden has his imagine issues.

If Biden can keep it together and picks a appealing VP then we have a shot at ousting the orange fungus.

I just hope he picks someone who is mentally with it and will not swear at voters. Just saying.

Probably so. I wonder how large is base actually is. It seems like last time around there were swing voters who just voted against Hillary rather than for Donald. I suppose by the time election rolls around impeachment will be much forgotten.

I disagree. I think the media and the internet (including this very site) have convinced us that the populace wants the government to provide for us, that meritocracy must be replaced by gender, race and identity, that socialism is cool and capitalism sucks.

As a rule, conservatives never bought into that foolishness and now this primary has shown us that the majority of Democrats agree with us. I'm pleasantly surprised!

I think that was just to irritate liberals. I would say 'Winning!', but that's too easy.
