I would sit on any $ now until bills come due. Especially since you've paid all bills thru May.

Thanks! I've decided to sit on the $$.
Even though I have yet to have had to juggle..... I never pay anything in advance and I never pay anything automatically.
I'm going through all my expenses to see what I can reduce. Just changed cell phone carrier (from Verizon to a reseller), saving $45/month.
Now I'm looking at my gym membership. LA Fitness is $30/month. My town has a nice fitness center for $15/month. Hours are just as good during the week. Less on the weekends, but that's fine. Once things reopen, I'm going to go in and check it out. $7 for one day passes, so I can see how I like it during an actual workout. They were scheduled to get some new equipment in late March, but I'm sure that's been delayed.
I’ve also been looking at my other bills. I have budget amounts I can pay for electric and house gas. Aside from the cell phone bill and gym membership, really the grocery bill is the only thing to really watch right now. My discretionary spending is almost all scuba diving and I’m doing none of that right now.
I turned my heat off two weeks ago. Even though it’s turned cold, it’s staying off. I’ve still been taking my daily hour long hot baths. Think I will switch to short showers. My gas bill is only for heat and hot water.
I’m trying to hang more clothes to drive. Although with not working now, I’m doing much less laundry. I can wear the same yoga pants and t-shirt more than one day (I rotate a different set each day). Probably one load of laundry a week.
I’m using the dishwasher more since I’m at home all day. I despise washing a lot of dishes by hand.
Try diluting supplies? We mix expensive cat litter with cheaper stuff. I know of people who mix 1/2 the grounds from a previous batch of coffee into the next. I also know people who've tried that and hate it (my DH for one). Use coupons, as appropriate. PM me and I'll send you a link to a blog with a list of US coupon sources. Make your own mixes, the internet is good for finding those. Use gasbuddy and google maps to reduce the amount of driving and what you pay for gasoline when you do. Institute a vegetarian meal day if you haven't already. See if your local utility has a reduced rate for retirees/unemployed people. That's all I can think of off the top!
Good ideas, but I already do that. I drink tea, not coffee. I use one tea bag to a big 32oz insulated mug. No cat. I live very close to the cheapest gas in my area. I already eat a lot of veggie meals. No go on the reduced utility rates for unemployed. I make my own hard surface cleaner - vinegar, Dawn dish liquid, and water in a spray bottle. Found that recipe here years ago.
Switching the cell service was the easy, low hanging fruit.
Got the SIM card today to switch cell service to the cheaper carrier. Very easy and quick switch.
Thought you might, but if there was something there you hadn't thought of, well I tried!
