    HGTV in a covid world

SO and I were just watching mindless HGTV when it occurred to me "when are they going to run out of Househunters episodes that were recorded before social distancing became a thing." SO said "they could just start re-running episodes from the beginning." I said "Sure. It wouldn't seem dated at all when Suzanne Whang walks on-screen and says 'Bill and Mary are looking for a starter home in San Francisco. They want a 3 bed/2 bath house in a prime neighborhood with all the bells and whistles. They have a healthy budget of $400,000. Will they find the house of their dreams? Find out as Househunters heads to San Francisco, California." Bing Bong.

We have actually started to watch subtitled Asian historical dramas. Actually some are pretty funny and well written. And I am loving youtube and the varied news shows, strange commentators, and all kinds of documentaries.

If you can, try to find Time Team on Youtube. Hightly recommended. I think they had over 250 episodes. The basic premise is take a history issue in archaeology in the UK (mostly) and 3 days. See if the question can be answered. I learned so much and they are funny too at times. They have some specials too.

DW has her favorite "stories" (soap opera); now that our state been under a stay-at-home order for more than a month, I'm wondering when these shows (which have something like a six-week gap between shooting and airing) will start reflecting current times. I see some newspaper comic strips are starting to refer to "the virus"; they, too, have a lead time of at least three or four weeks, so it should be only a matter of time.

This reflects my privileged life, but so far one of the biggest things to come out of Covid19 shut down for me is the production closing of my new beloved drama show, Succession. I want all of those actors to avoid the virus and come back to the shooting stage hail and hearty.

We were also discussing whether Big Brother will happen this year. Since it’s a show involving ‘houseguests’ locked up together in a house 24/7 with no visitors from the outside world it could actually be done but they will need to quarantine all the houseguests individually for two weeks prior to the start of the show.

That show is doable. Quarantine them all for 14 days and then in the house they go! Just no ZingBot or past winner appearances.

We old-timers (DH and I) are worried about Jeopardy running through all their pre-taped shows.
