Do you have a recipe? My grandmother from Tennessee (Coffee County) used to make blackberry dumplings, now that you mention them.

I have made a Turkey Tamale Pie (used leftover chicken) and cheese blintzes. Both were from CHef John of Food Wishes on Youtube. He also has the recipies online. Both turned out great with his video instructions and we ate every scrap. Going to try his homemade rice pudding next.

All cooked on top of range in a pot, cook blackberries with sugar.
Make sure you have enough liquid to later insert the dumplings into.
Make dumplings and put into the blackberry mixture. Simmer about 30 minutes.
These are wonderful even better with a scoop of ice cream.

Around here they put cherries in EVERYTHING.
Thank you for this idea. I eat a lot of chicken salad and Cherries would be very interesting. I like the idea of that a lot.

Also sour cherry sauce over a pork chop seems good.

I’ve been making a lot of new recipes, using what I have in hand. A rice, lentils and onion dish, a jarred salad, a burrito bowl, a “brother Jonathan” etc. I’m also using our standards, whatever fits the current food inventory, although I’m trying to use pantry staples, beans, rice, noodles, etc. at least once weekly.

Check this out, IL, it is a wonderful restaurant near us:

    https://www.cherryhut.com/

They make an amazing soft drink out of the cherry juice from the cherry barrels--it sounds awful but it's actually really good.

    Can't wait til they reopen.

Speaking of cherries, does anyone have good montmorency cherry recipes? I have a montmorency cherry tree, and my neighbors go ga-ga over it, but I don't know what to do with the cherries!!
