Not necessarily for dinner, but Amazon Fresh just provided me with an excellent hunk of truffled Gouda--Wyngard Affine' brand. An on-line wine store is offering five ounces for $13, but Fresh sold it to me for $7. (A luxury at that)

"These cheeses are first matured for approximately 16 weeks, then segmented and subsequently spread with a fresh summer truffle tapenade. The flavour...is gradually released into the cheese, and the result is surprising. You can taste the delicate combination of truffle and cheese as well as the cheese itself."

Since partially recovering from covid but not working outside the house, I’ve been reviving my cooking skills from 30 years ago. It’s just enough to fill my days - reading recipes, cooking, dishes, cleaning, laundry, reading, and resting. With a short drive or walk with my husband thrown in a few times a week.

I’ve become the perfect 1950s housewife.

Since retiring, so have I. Tonight we did breakfast for dinner, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and biscuits. Tomorrow night I'll serve green beans and red potatoes with cottage ham.
