Her name is Bitsy! She is less than half the size of my beloved bulldog who died in late January.
Bitsy has a mysterious past. She was pushed out of a car in a busy intersection. A good Samaritan saw an out-of-state car door fly open ahead and the dog fall out. The Good Samaritan circled the intersection to got back to pick Bitsy out of traffic. She took Bitsy to county animal control
County animal control held Bitsy for 10 days as required for the owner to show up. No one came for Bitsy. Animal control turned her over to St. Louis Bulldog Rescue. She has been in rescue since mid March.
Because she was well cared for and well socialized, it is clear she has been someone’s beloved pet. Our rescue head worked her contacts in other states to see if owner could be found. Nope.
People—put a microchip on your dog!
We think Bitsy was kidnapped for spite. She is a well bred, champion -level dog. Someone paid some $$ for her. Now I will make another $$ donation to Bulldog rescue. this is one of the few money making dogs we get in. Even then, she had an emergency spay surgery due to Pyrometrea, a cherry eye fix, and xrays for cat litter in her GI tract. Her vet care was not without incident.
Throughout all of this she has been a happy, confident puppy. We place her at 9 months in age. She doesn’t know someone hated her enough to wish her death by car. Bitsy thinks everyone is her friend and all the humans love her. Typical brainless bulldog! They are ridiculous which is why I love them.870C9B9D-7B62-4084-A420-6BF04BE59325.jpg
The green tennis shoe is in the first photo to show her size. She is 31 pounds.
