    Upside-down red triangle.

Why was it in the ad?

    1) Someone knew what it meant, and snuck it in as a dog-whistle to the base
    2) Someone knew what it meant, and snuck it in to ruffle up the feathers of the Outrage Community for a variety of reasons
    3) Nobody knew what it meant, and it was in for graphic design purposes
    4) Someone put it in as an emoji to represent something else, I don't know what, I don't keep up with emoji speak
    5) Something else
    6) Some combination of the above

Now, I just this moment tracked down the ad in question. The triangle isn't an emoji, it is a prominent part of the graphic design and messaging of the ad. Someone put the thing in there on purpose, to convey some sort of messages. In the context of the text in the ad, the message seems to be political.

So the choice of an inverted red triangle does seem tricky to explain. When I was at the National Holocaust Museum in DC recently, they had an exhibit of the clothing symbols sewn onto concentration camp victims, I believe the red one was for political prisoners and dissidents.

A bit of a coincidence perhaps...

Yup, sticking by my opinion that it says Trump continues to be a hateful, insensitive individual.

Not the "trumpers"... he can say/do anything. trump is a hitler/dictator-wanna be. Read Bae's post for clarification!

Stephen Miller is an avowed white nationalist (supremacist)--the equivalent of Hitler's Joseph Goebbels, minister of propaganda. He writes most, if not all, of Trump's speeches.

It also indicates family planning products and services. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Tr...mily_planning)

It was also apparently used by European Anti-Fascist groups after WWII. https://www.csmonitor.com/Technology...e-campaign-ads

Those are facts for anyone interested.

Look again.. the first says facts need to be checked for verification that this indicates family planning and the next article says it is troubling that trump would use a symbol of the Nazis.

It reminds me of those old yellow signs on fallout shelters, not a good thing.

Now that's interesting! I didn't notice the Wikipedia link's "needs verification" notice when I posted it and the footer show's it was edited today. LOL
As for the CS Monitor link, it says several things for those with open minds to ingest. The most telling thing to me is that given several historical uses of the image, they chose to link this usage to the one most likely to make you happy. Will you reward them with a subscription?

So, why was this triangle in the ad, and prominently?

What was it intended to represent?

They said Antifa, but people seem to prefer other explanations. Personally, I have no idea.
