Just as commercials have adjusted to "our new reality" (tm) I suppose it was inevitible that music would eventually address covid, as will books and everything else eventually. I've long loved Twenty One Pilots and really like this, although apparently I'm late to the party having just heard it for the first time today even though it dropped in April. Interestingly my initial reaction to the song was to start crying. Apparently the stress and depression from "our new reality" is wearing on me in ways I hadn't quite realized, although to be fair I have had a number of covid infection dreams over the past few months.

Panic on the brain, world has gone insane
Things are starting to get heavy, mm
I can't help but think I haven't felt this way
Since I asked you to go steady
Wonderin', would you be, my little quarantine?
Or is this the way it ends?
'Cause I told you my level of concern
But you walked by like you never heard
And you could bring down my level of concern
Just need you to tell me we're alright, tell me we're okay

The way he ties in his fears that the relationship might not work out and his fears about the virus are awesome.
