It will be a longer commute if I get it, but an opportunity to double my skills set. The manager at the other site is very good. It is in a lower risk part of the state so even if they are bad at covid protocols like my current location is I will be safer.
I don't know if my current manager will sign off on my request. He has blocked several people from leaving our branch, but has allowed others to go. I would be the only person in the office, not under the thumb of the office manager like I am now. She has been here 24 years and there is only one way to do things, her way, the way it has been for 24 years. She hates change and continuous improvement is an unknown concept to her. So I hope I get it but I am trying to not get my hopes up too high.
A recruiter has also contacted me about a local position but I have not heard back on it.
I am getting restless with nothing new to learn. It's hard to work somewhere when you are expected to check your brain at the door and be a cog. There are many good people where I work now I will miss. They just aren't on the management team.
