I have to come back to this. Someone mentioned the Pern series on another books post. I had forgotten about them. Had read a good number of them when I was in college (at least the ones that were published up to the early 90s). I’ve been rereading them and oh, awesome! There are books Anne published up until the early 2000s, then she did a few with her son, then he’s done some and her daughter wrote one. There are a few Pern reference book written in the 80s or early 90s I’ve found used. A CD of music from the books and a FB group for fans. So much fun. Just what I needed right now with all that’s going on. A wonderful imaginary world to immerse myself in.
Tradd, after the previous conversation about Pern, I went on ebay and ordered about 5 of the books that I don't have. Have most of them now (not all of them...yet. lol) Now I need to find some time to just sit and read them.

I am glad that The Pern books are still so popular. I do think they are modern classics, the cream rises to the top over decades. I have not read them myself but probably need to put the first one on my list.
You need to put the first trilogy on your list - Dragonquest, Dragonflight, The White Dragon. Also the Harper Hall Trilogy which overlaps with the first three.
