Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. We have had no good news since this all began, nothing seems to be getting better. When she met with the doctor before the surgery she asked "I am not going to die am I?" We all laughed, given how routine this surgery is. She asked my wife the same thing last night, it wasn't so funny then. She is scared, we all are. Thank you for all your prayers and concern.

Let's hope the teaching hospital comes through for her--what an ordeal!

Teaching hospitals make a lot of difference. I know 2 people only alive because they transferred to one. I really hope it’s resolved quickly.

I can't imagine the stress and worry you must be feeling. So glad she is being transferred to a teaching hospital. No doubt she will get the best minds working towards a solution. Please keep us posted. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

May you find the answers needed at the teaching hospital. Ditto on the thoughts and prayers.

So sorry, Greg, for your daughter and for you all. I hope the new doctors and hospital find out quickly what your daughter needs.

Great News! After 31 days? I have lost count - since the end of September, my daughter is home from the hospital and doing so much better. Still must have a feeding tube (now through her nose and down past the injured part of the small intestine) but her spirits are up and she is home! Doctor at teaching hospital said, "I don't know if anyone has told you (and they hadn't) but you will recover from this 100% and live a normal life! That was the best thing we had heard. Especially seems we were seeing no progress at the other hospital. We feel so very blessed.
Her first venture out today - Target! She is my wife's daughter!!
