rosarugosa's response made me think of the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. Isn't that usually on Thanksgiving? But probably not this year. One more thing that won't happen.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

I love this for a few reasons: you can make whatever you want with the meat and stock. It requires no thermometer. I end up with two yummy types of food instead of one. And, finally? If I'm going to be in the kitchen anyway, I can start it and it pretty much requires no minding until it's done, unless you don't have enough water in it.

I got the idea from the Frugal Gourmet, but he used TURKEY!
I do this all the time as well - especially when whole chickens are on sale. I've never tried it with a turkey. I'm not even sure I have a pot big enough!
