When I see what Hollywood has done to Marvel characters, I want to weep.

Reduced to a puppet. But still less degraded than Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.

There’s a reason everyone fought to hold on to their expendable launch vehicles rather than depend on all the promised shuttle missions.

Giving NASA a military role would be the equivalent of waging war through a faculty committee of a liberal arts college. They’re great at promoting themselves, though.
Why is it necessary to have this as a military role?

Something about "the high ground", and "potential energy", I think.

Maintaining and deploying space-based assets for communication, navigation and surveillance, and negating the enemy’s assets for those purposes. Detecting and tracking enemy missile launches, and stopping them in the boost or orbital stages. Supporting the operations of the other branches. All these missions seem to me to be within the military’s responsibilities.

I had an image of the new space program exploring space, the final frontier. It might be asking too much, but I could also go with Intragalactic Explorers.
