I saw some relevance because policy affects personal financial decisions, the ACA (and healthcare), social security, and so on and on. I saw the relevance as it affects environmental policy (which is a subforum but not one getting almost any traction for awhile). So politics is just going to manifest anyway I figured. But almost none of those issues are ACTUALLY ones discussed on public policy much anyway it turns out.

The Public Policy Forum has always been the place where things were most likely to get a bit heated, but that being said, I do think people are pretty civil most of the time. I guess I would recommend keeping out of that one if you are very thin-skinned. I try to avoid being snarky or offensive because people here don't really know me and I might not get the same benefit of the doubt for overall good intentions as I might from those who know and love me in real life.
I feel terrible that Tammy and Geila were hurt, but I also don't see that anything so very bad was said. I think people in general might be feeling a bit more fragile right now, and we would do well to keep that in mind.

My priority is my diving. Not politics. I double majored in political science and journalism in college. But it’s just gotten to be too much.

I think it may be too late to apologize, he hasn't checked back in over the last 9 days so it looks like he may have moved on to a friendlier pasture. I'll miss him.

That’s a shame. I would have hoped that he would have thought about what Tammy was saying. But if not I suppose we’ll have to go on with our lives.

Glad to see you back, Tammy. I hope LDAHL is back soon, too.
