I finally got around to Don't Look Up, which I'm working my way through and enjoying. We truly are that silly, shallow, and fact-resistant, most of us--perhaps the media most of all.

DH picked out two interesting movies last week:
Georgetown with Christophe Waltz (I love him!!) and Vanessa Redgrave. Fun.
The Innocents: A beautiful French movie with English subtitles. Just lovely, about a French female medic during WWII and her involvement with a nearby convent.

Saw the Bob's Burgers movie with the adult kids last night. I enjoy the show when I catch it - lots of fast, funny dialogue. The movie was fun - lots like the weekly show.

We saw TOpGun Maverick yesterday.
It was predictable but nice. You all need to see it on the big screen, and IMAX is preferred. We did not do IMAX however.
Tom Cruise introduces the film, and thanks everyone for coming to the movie theater to see it. I guess it was ready in 2020 but Cruise convinced production companies to hold off until Covid died down. Now it’s generating huge box office so that is good. I think it may be getting people back into the theater who have not been. I haven’t been to a movie theater since February 2020.
I’m a Tom Cruise fan in theory but his action films are so boring to me I haven’t seen a Tom .cruise movie in years and years, but all the Tommy Boy eye candy was lovely.
We went to the multiplex that has been retooled into theater seats that recline and are big and wide. They serve food. It’s all a bit much.
