We finally saw The Biggest Little Farm last night. I was able to borrow it from the library. It was absolutely wonderful and DH loved it too.

And I watched it again today with Mom and she just loved it! I actually enjoyed it on the second watching as well, so I think that is high praise indeed.

I just rewatched My Neighbor Totoro and Whisper of the Heart, two Studio Ghibli classics I've watched many times and always enjoy.

Whisper of the Heart is a sweet adolescent romance (totally G rated) about a middle-school girl trying to sort out her conflicting feelings about romance, friendship loyalty, and what in the heck she wants to do with the rest of her life. Very sweet, very real, and a very touching ending.

My Neighbor Totoro is cute, sweet, and funny. The only complaint I've ever heard about it is that some (prudish imo) people object to the scene where the father and his two daughters take a bath together even though that is the way Japanese families traditionally bathe.

(I'll forgo writing the obvious rant that I am obviously aching to write about people who condemn movies or books for realistically portraying the cultural norms of a different society or a previous era. )

We just started watching Impeachment: American Crime Story about Bill Clinton and that cast of characters including Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp. I read a negative review of Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, but I think she's good.

Oh good lord WHY did someone feel the need to dramatize that event, or make another dramatization? I’m sure it’s been dramatized before this.

Monica Lewinsky is currently engaged in a PR campaign to improve her image by telling her side of the story. I wish her luck.

Had a well-worn VHS copy of this that we watched all the time when the kids were little. Finally got a DVD version and we all still enjoy it!
