My DS (24) is engaged! They've been together for about 18 months now and seem really happy. She's graduating from college in May and is a go-getter. She may end up getting a job in a larger metro area and so I expect they'll be leaving in the near future. Excited for them and their new life together but just the tiniest tug on my heartstrings, too.

That's exciting! I recall our shock/happiness a few years back when our now son-in-law knocked on the door one night, came in nervously and said he would like our blessings to marry our daughter.

Indeed - I spoke to the bride's mom last night. Apparently, the couple had already been planning stuff before the engagement. Looking at an outdoor (!) wedding early October this year. I'm meeting with the bride and mom tonight to get some plans going. Bride's mom and I are on the same page as far as financial support, so that's encourating.Originally Posted by SteveinMN
