    Immunocompromised Accommodations

Pre-pandemic I knew several children who could not go out in public because their immune systems were compromised by chemo treatment for cancer.

One was a friend of my son's. Sometimes my son after being screened would visit him at his hospital bed or at his home. He had a limited number of friends who could visit him. Sadly this child later died.

Another time I was dating a barber and he went to the home of a child to cut his hair because the child could not come to the barber shop and be around so many people and their germs.

In neither case did anyone wear masks. Yet now some are saying despite huge drops in cases, hospitalizations and deaths people should continue to wear masks to protect vulnerable people from covid. If you accept that as true, do you also think that even if/when covid goes away or goes dormant everyone should wear masks all the time in public so kids with cancer can go out in public and live more normal lives? Or should they continue to sequester themselves until they are well?

I actually prefer sherbet over ice cream on very hot days. Just has some mango sherbet two days ago - yum!!!

I've never developed much of a taste for sherbet. I should work on that...

ETA: Yeah, I think masks are a useful tool to thwart contagion. You can think what you want.
