Everyone I know can afford to get whatever they want whenever they want, so I have started to make donations to some select organizations in the name of friends and family. Those that actually get a gift usually get cash/gift card and others get consumables.

yes, this is the kind of Christmas card I like to get. I’d like to see a summary of activities in someone’s life. See, I don’t have many Facebook “friends “so I don’t look at what they post.

I also want to see photos of children who are related to me. If you (the generic you) have children, you are related to me, and you dont include a photo of them in your generic Christmas card,a pox on you!!!! Ha. I also like Christmas cards with photographs of family dogs and cats

I like to give out Christmas cards that are pretty or regional. Not personal, though. This year I found some great ones of a lobster boat with a wreath and twinkling lights, for 2.99 at Reny's.

Tradd, that is exactly the kind of card mom's friend sends. We love them probably because it took some effort to have the card personalized rather than just buying a box and I can keep it.

I love Reny's! You are fortunate if you have one nearby. It's become one of my top must-visits when we get up to Portland.

Thank you, all! I'll post this year's card when it's done. Already have the photos selected for it
