    Where are the Thighs?

In our area, there are no chicken thighs available in the stores. Legs, breasts and wings, but no thighs. No one seems to know why. I could understand a general shortage of chicken, but why this specific part?

I went grocery shopping yesterday and didn’t look for chicken thighs so I didn’t notice if they were there or not.

We have plenty in all the stores. We buy at Meijer, a local big box grocery store. Their boneless chicken thighs are a wonderful thing. Big, meaty and without a huge amount of unnecessary fat. Previous price $2.99 with $1.99 on sale. Now sometimes up around $3.99. Still good value since no waste.

I always wonder where the bones go for all cuts of meat and fowl. We have both boneless and bone in thighs at our stores so perhaps it is a regional shortage.

I almost bought some my last shopping trip, but they were not skinless/boneless and looked to have way too much fat. Will look next trip and see if they are still available at my store.

I've always figured that was used for things like bonemeal.
I've noticed no thighs, and there have been some chicken shortages.

No chicken wings here for over a year now.
I know the local Chinese restaurant uses thigh meat in their dishes.

Apparently, in the absence of wings, thighs are filling the void, and maybe that's why thighs are selling out.

I was just at a Kroger and they were fully stocked with a variety of chicken thigh brands. $3.29 a pound. Wings are hard to find though. But why would anyone buy the wings when there are thighs
