    Medicare open enrollment

I went on Medicare the middle of this year, and it was not easy--but finally got it straightened out.

I want to stay with exactly what I have now. Do I have to do anything or am I automatically kept in my plan? I have an AARP supplement and original Medicare.

    Thanks for your help!

This is my second full year on Medicare. I asked DH if I need to do anything and he said no, we are automatically enrolled unless we wish make a change.

That is so different from work healthcare plan where every year we had a sign up for the thing even if we didn’t want to make any changes at all.

I was notified that my RX policy was no longer available and I could keep my supplemental plan but it was going up 20/month. I chose 2 new plans today.

I would call the plan and see if everything is the same for next year. Then ask them what is your next step. We got a postcard saying unless we changed our BCBS plan would stay at $0 and outlined the few changes. We are still looking at every plan in our zip code. I wish everyone could have the coverage we do at our low premium.

Yes. Every county has different plans and w picked the best for us. Don’t forget to check coverage of your meds. A friend of ours has to take daily eye drops. He didn’t check and it ended up costing him thousands last year.

We have free advantage plans also. I think they are everywhere. I won’t have one. I know what you mean about the prescriptions. It can make a huge difference.

I dont have an Advantage plan. Remind me of the “Gotchas” with Advantage.
