Ebay selling…now direct deposit only into my bank?

It’s been many months since I sold something on eBay.

Today I tried to list something and ebay asked me questions about my bank. Something about they want to put sales money directly into my bank account.

I don’t want that. I poked around a little on the Internet to find that eBay is no longer handling sales through PayPal. I liked monies going into my PayPal account. I do not want eBay to have my bank account.

    Is there some alternative?

I make very few sales, a couple hundred dollars a year. I’m not gonna open a separate bank account just for that.

IL, I ran into that the last time I listed something. I did give them my account info with a little bit of trepidation and everything went smoothly once I made the sale. I did not see any alternative method, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. I preferred using my PP account.

IL, husband has been selling for a long time. We have experienced no issues. He does track all our accounts very carefully.

I read 10 pages of comments on eBay help center, it seems like my only option is to tie it to a bank account if I want to continue to work with eBay.

One suggestion was to get an online account that dumps money into my regular checking account. That online account would not have any fees associated with it, and there would be such a small amount of money in it any time there might be identity theft and fraud that I don’t have to worry about it.
I guess I could move sales to Etsy, but I don’t know how Etsy collects money. I only plan on doing one more group of sales and then I’m probably done selling anyway.

I might just gather it all up and take it to an antique dealer and say give me 100 bucks and let’s be done with it.

I am done fussing with this.

I gathered up all the sterling silver pieces I wanted to sell, photographed them as one lot. sent the photograph to Silver Queen and they gave me a quote of $100.

I figure I could’ve gotten $150 -$175 on eBay so that’s not too bad. I’m done selling on eBay now.

I am so very relieved I got rid of my book collection last year thru Ebay sales before this latest wrinkle imposed by Ebay.

I’ve never sold anything on eBay and it’s been years (decades?) since I bought anything there. But I used the googles and found this blog. Not sure when it was written but apparently you aren’t the only one upset about the change. The article also says that you would still be able to use PayPal until 2023 but it sounds like they changed their mind on that.

I haven't sold on eBay for years, but if Paypal isn't allowed to buy, that's the end of them for me.

You can use Paypal to buy, just not income. This problem comes at the end of my eBay sales effort anyway, so it’s not a huge problem for me. But I always liked the idea of having eBay to go to to get rid of small things that are easy to ship. They made it so easy to list things anymore. Oh well their loss.

Sigh... I was just getting ready to list some of these cds I've been digitizing. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere.
