I think I just bought one of the last iPod Touch-es

I use a ten year old iPad as my media player. Mostly it sits on my work desk. Once in a while I bring it to the kitchen. Eventually pandora will stop supporting iOS 10 so I will have to come up with a new plan. But until then I’ll keep using it as such. (It replaced my second gen iPod touch when pandora stopped supporting iOS 3.whatever. ). That old iPod is completely useless at this point although it will still charge and boot. Nothing on it functions because even safari on it is too old for most web sites today.

I have a wonderful Sandisk MP3 around here somewhere, There are several similar models on Amazon.

ETA: Sandisk is a well-established brand.

I have one of those around here somewhere. I can't remember if they will hold an audiobook or not. I think so. One main thing I use my iPod for is to download library audiobooks and listen while stitching, weeding, or walking.

Has anyone figured out how to download content from old iPods? I have one of the first ones and I had playlists on it that I loved, but I've never figured out how to download them. I'd continue to use the old iPod, but the battery doesn't hold.

ETA: Looks like it wasn't one of the first ones. It was an early gen but not worth much!

I researched this just in time. I backed up all my stuff to "the Cloud" and hopefully it will all be there when I log in and ask it to descend into my new iPod.

I know I was able to download all my music from iTunes to my laptop, so I feel pretty confident.

I haven’t attempted this but theoretically you should still be able to connect an old iPod to a computer and sync it with iTunes?

If it's connected to a power source, probably. The battery on mine is dead as a door nail.

I have a Sandisk mp3 that has my tapes and some music. It did download a book, but I'm not an audio person. I have a small 10 " RCA tablet that holds my qi gong tapes and Deepak tapes. it works well for them. The qi gong is video-I'd like to transfer to deepak meditations to the mp3 player...but cannot figure it out.

I got a 1 gb Sandisk over 15 years ago and use the heck out of it. When I decided to digitize my cd collection recently, I got another 1 gb (clip broke on my original and I got tired of having it in my pocket - kept changing songs when I moved a certain way - lol) and an 8gb. Easy-peasy to download music. Love that the 1gb's have voice recording capabilities, but the 8 does not. However the 8 has other audio, podcast, and a few other options that I haven't fully explored yet.
