    Apple AirTags for travel

After hearing all the stories about lost baggage lately, I ordered a 4 pack of Apple AirTags from Amazon and will have them tomorrow. One for my checked bag and one for carryon (just in case). People have used them to find their lost bags. I’d wanted one for my keys anyway.

I’ve been looking for a solid way to attach one to a key ring.

Search on Amazon. They have key rings with attached holder you insert AirTag into.

Thanks. I’ll check it out when our current Amazon fast expires.

You can get them through Apple too.

How does this technology work? I mean, what does the layman do to locate the lost thing?

It emits a Bluetooth signal which is picked up by any other apple product with Bluetooth turned on and that is connected to the internet. It’s basically the same way that ‘find my iPhone’ works.

I've stuffed them in all of my camera bags and important gear bags, and inside my wallet. It's saved me a couple of times.

This is sometimes very funny, because the message - depending on when a bluetooth signal is received - arrives on my cell phone with a slight delay. It says "Your car was last seen on the B 239"
When I had the AirTags brand new, I checked outside the house. The car was still there.
It had not made an autonomous excursion.
You have to be willing to do the things others will never do in order to have the things others will never have.
