    I really could do this.....

I just returned from five days off, now 12 days on. I was in Nogales again - both sides - and when I spent time in Colonia Kennedy this time it really dawned on me that I could live here. Really. Better Spanish would help of course. But it really is possible. Rob

Crime stats are not favorable for Nogales although I doubt it is any worse than in my former neighborhood. Another murder nearby last night.

I read today that of the three NAFTA countries Mexico is doing the best in terms of inflation, economics, etc.

I had a crash course in learning Spanish when I spent a summer in Mexico as a 19yo. I had to since my boyfriend there did not speak English. I still practice in my head and also listen to telanovas to see what I can understand.

I have several high school friends who have relocated/retired there, and I don't think they were fluent in Spanish when then moved.

I wouldn't let Spanish hold you back, you'd pick it up in no time.

Does Mexico have a financial solvency or income requirement for residency? Many countries do.
