Tybee: I hope they carry your drug! If not, it would probably be worthwhile to check in periodically, since I think it's a young business and hopefully will continue to grow.

Tradd: That is wonderful! Your future self will be so grateful.

I got some free hostas by swapping some of my volunteer seedlings of Solomon's Seal and Hellebore. (I have a large area under the neighbor's Norway Maple where little but hostas will grow, so I've been trying to build up a varied hosta collection. Hostas are typically used in a boring way, but I've seen all-hosta gardens done well, and they can be stunning. I have not yet achieved stunning status however).
We got some great deals at Costco's this week:
Two magnificent hanging baskets of Rieger begonias for 17.99 each
Bag of roasted almonds, 2.5 lbs for 9.79 (we've been paying 7.99/lb at the grocery store)
There were other good values, but these really stood out to me.

Struggling with inflation and I will not hit my May budget. Homeowners insurance went up 20%, because the property tax assessment went up 20%, and I also got the furnace cleaned. This is the first month this year I'll miss my target.

I am really impressed with how you target each month's budget.

I have had luck growing hostas from seed--I get the seed pods from places like the bank parking lot, etc.

They will not breed true to the parent. and a seed produced offspring might be close enough to the parent that you won’t notice a difference, but it’s not going be the same plant.

many people share their hostas freely, although most of the ones that are shared are not the really nice varigated expensive ones, it is true.
