Hello from Catalonia, Spain

I've just realized I discovered this forum in 2016 but never posted a single message, so I'll try to mend the error now.

This is David, mid-30s, currently living in Terrassa, a city near Barcelona (in Catalonia, northeast Spain). I studied a couple of undergraduate degrees-equivalent studies on administration and finances, and currently work as a bookkeeper/accountant. I love reading books, studying languages, and learning a bit of everything: from ecology, science, psychology, sociology, religion, politics, etc., always in a non-dogmatic and open-minded spirit.

I visit the forum occasionally when I need a bit of sanity to recover from the hyper-consumerist world out there. I can't remember where and how I found this forum, but in the good old days of dial-up connections —when the internet was much more text-based and, in my opinion, much friendlier and human than it currently is— I used to roam through several English-speaking forums and sites to learn the language as well as learning new things about the world.

So that's it; another European among the forum members.

Catherine: how nice, it's great your daughter speaks some Catalan, and I'm so glad your kids had a great time in Catalonia. It certainly is a very special place, but of course I can't be impartial.
