Got my 60,000 mile service on the car for $227.07 vs the $695.00 original estimate by shopping around at different dealerships.

Okay----that is awesome & amayzeen. Especially that the president gave you so much time to make your case. Again, wow. Around here, you gotta make your case in 5 minutes or so, so ya gotta pack the room with concerned members of the voting public, or they won't pay much attention.

Yes. This guy is very good on process, but he votes wrong on every issue.

Went for a physical so now less will be deducted from my paycheck for medical premiums.

There was a big sign up that if you raise any issue with the doctor it will not be a preventive care visit and you will have to pay, so I kept all my minor ailments to myself. So much for Obamacare! Turned down every test and procedure recommended for additional cost savings.

I know about the preventative versus diagnostic testing being the only one that’s free.

I had a mammogram a few years ago at the request of my doctor and granted it had been a few years since I had one. There was an irregularity about my skin. So that was “diagnostic “and that was not free under Obamacare. And then just recently I had a mammogram, and a follow up, mammogram and ultrasound, and those results were negative as I knew they would be.

Those tests are all ”diagnostic” not preventative, so they will fall somewhere on my insurance bill, don’t know if I will have to pay something towards them or if the various insurers will pay 100%. It Doesn’t really matter to me, but yeah, the tricks of Obamacare and the health insurance industry are amusing.

I am starting to refill water gallons when I visit my parents. Their water is not fluoridated.

I've been looking into a target credit card. You can get 5% off purchases at Target including gift cards. plus 2% on most other purchases. I need to read all the fine print first.

Have my grocery lists ready for the three major stores within four miles of my house. I keep them on hand and if I'm near one of the stores get the stuff on my list.

I’m not deliberately boycotting Target because of the stupid New Age bathing suit thing but I seldom go to Target. Yesterday we were in town with a Target and I need new pillows, but I decided to order them on Amazon staying away from Target once again.

Normally I go to Target about once every two years, just about as often as I drink a Bud Light, about once every two years. But I’m holding firm on boycotting Bud Light because they are my hometown brewery and they need to stand up and act right.

Interesting. I definitely prefer Target over Walmart and will always look there first if I'm in need of something. But then, I don't shop much to begin with.

I never go to Walmart. I lived in the urban core for decades and there is no Walmart in the city. There is one Target store.

But I just have no need to go to Target.

I am learning the small-town Target is Dollar General. I’ve stopped in there a few times to get envelopes, tape, cheap greeting cards, etc. since the grocery stores here in Hermann do not carry that stuff.

My husband did the coolest frugal! He had a clock that he loves that is handmade and it worked for 25 years then stopped. He tried various things and then decided to get a $5 clock at Walmart and use that mechanism in the clock case. Now he has his clock back, for five dollars!
