Haven't heard from the campaign who I was most in touch with. The bullying council president must have gotten to them. May not volunteer for a mayoral campaign but RFK's instead.

On the food front, it was encouraging to hear him talk about the impossibility of ordinary people being able to eat healthfully because of the costs and the need for systemic change. So I am going to stop beating myself up and just do the best I can.

I don’t know, I heard someone I respect, of course can’t remember who that was since I listen to so many podcasts, talk about debating RFK. He said RFK was not an honest debater, he kept changing the goalposts when they got into a topic. And that’s what a lot of these sleazy debaters do.

On a recent podcast Malcolm Gladwell debated Douglas Murray, and it was obvious Gladwell was outclassed in content, delivery, and just plain class. Gladwell pulled the typical dodges of a dishonest debater, dancing around the topic, name-calling, etc.

RFK has two or three major things to overcome, and I think one of them is his Kennedy name. The others are his neurological disease and of course is his “anti-VAX “stance and I don’t know how comprehensive that is or what his reasoning is.
I am not a serious person.

Hacked away at the juniper shrub some more. It is a tough beast.

Doubt I will end up volunteering for a mayoral campaign.

    1. Candidate 1 will have all canvassing done prior to the primary.
    2. Believe candidate 2 thinks I am too controversial.
    3. Candidate 3 is a long shot who I do not think will get past the primary.

Hacking away at the shrub some more. It has spread so much over the years and has many tangly roots.

    Bookshelf project 75% there
    clear the bed not yet
    Figure out quilt backing done
    Summer of Solidarity scaled back
    Fix toilet done
Anything that needs to be done before epic vacation in progress

Bookshelf is 75% done and looking like we will finish before epic vacation. You can see more of the comforter on the bed, still too much stuff on it. Bed is now staging area for donations. Work is picking up and I'll be gone for October so the Summer of Solidarity has come to a close. I'll still help out an hour or two as I can plus donate to the Strike fund. Still working on the to do list before we leave.

    3. I believe one BOH member retired over a year now may let his medical license lapse - if so work to get him out right away. (We recently got the covidian school superintendent out, so this is not as far fetched as it sounds.)
    4. Put in for, maybe even take another week's staycation.
    5. Continue with my recent move to avoid heavy GMO foods (soy, corn, sugar beet) and not backslide.
    6. Stay on budget every month.
    7. Get some resolution on the tires issue.
    8. Remove an out of control shrub and let vinca take over that area.
    9. Lose those last 5 pounds.
Summer is over and the primary is actually in the fall, but I have helped all the mayoral challengers, abandoned term limits (may try with the new council in January), failed to oust the Board of Health doctor, took my staycation, failed at avoiding GMO foods, stayed on budget every month, on the tires got an independent measurement and they are in better shape than I thought, gave up on the vinca and actually gained weight. But fall is a new season.
