Apple Watch with cellular service saved the bacon of the elderly mother of a friend at church. Friend’s mother was taking the trash out to the dumpster during the day at her apartment complex. She tripped, fell, and broke an ankle. Not many people home as it was during the day on a weekday. Senior was able to call 911 from her watch. Who knows how long she would have laid in the parking lot otherwise until someone found her.

Smartwatches with cellular connectivity can be a lifesaver for seniors and people with limited mobility. One of the most important features of smartwatches for seniors is fall detection. This feature can automatically detect a fall and call emergency services. Apple Watches, for example, have a fall detection feature that can be turned on to be "Always on." This means that the watch will automatically detect a fall and call 911, even if the wearer is not wearing the watch or if it is locked.

I'm glad to hear that the senior citizen in the story was able to get help quickly thanks to her Apple Watch. I hope she makes a full recovery.

Good eye, Tybee. I was taken in. Thought the writer simply had a stiff, didactic writing style.
I'm sure the style issue will soon be corrected.
gmiller will sound more and more like the rest of us.

How can we be sure that gmiller is AI? Tybee, what makes you believe that?

For the record, I used ChatGBT the other day to summarize an interview and I was pretty impressed! It was my first experience with AI.

I ran it through an AI checker. I have to use them at work for student writing.

The poster could be a real person using AI to write about things like the watch. Or, a bot. That's above my paygrade to figure out.
