Substitute for Sambol Oelek chili paste

On this website, we have talked about the tragedy of Huy Fong chili paste being unavailable due to a crop failure.

I tried the Sambal Olek from a competitor and it was not good. Avoid!


But I did find a hot sauce that I like quite a bit, yes, it has a different taste. It’s not as hot. but I am liking it. It is Sirachi hot sauce made with yellow chili peppers. The brand is “three mountains brand.”

I did check my local grocery store a while ago for the Huy Fong chili paste to see if I could get it for you, but they didn't have it either.

Thanks for the checking! It isn’t available anywhere.well, I did see it listed for $34 on Amazon. Normally it sells for $4.99.
