Tornado warning in IL in Feb. WTF

I am sitting in my bathroom watching our local weather god, Tom Skilling, on my iPad. Sirens going off. I’m in the NW suburbs of Chicago.

Tonight is Tom’s last regular day on the air after 45 years with WGN Channel 9. They’re on the air past norm broadcast time for the 6pm news. I’m sure he’s having the time of his life.

Ground stop at both O’Hare and Midway.

Once these storms are past, then temps crash by about 50 degrees. Bit of snow tomorrow morning. Windchills in the teens. One day of cold and then back to the warmer than usual. Low 70s today.

I welcome the cooling off here. I don’t wanna see it. Get hot so early.

Hope the night passed safely for you, Tradd.

We have rain and thunderstorms, but mid-50 temps. I welcome the warmth but not so much the wet.

Yes, I’m fine. Was over by 10pm.

Lots of trees down on the way to work, but no roads blocked. One light out. That’s it.

It’s about 15 with a windchill of 2 right now. Some minor snow on the ground. Less than half an inch. High of about 25 today and very windy!
