    Putin Wins Re-Election

I see he won with 87% of the vote. One has to wonder at the courage of the 13% (or whatever the real number was).

And on the topic of socialist paradises, I see there were demonstrations in Cuba over the lack of food and electricity this weekend.

Yes, especially considering the only other viable options were falling out of a window or being sent to the Ukrainian front.

What about dying in prison, and then having to find a funeral home that will bury you?

I wonder what the voter turn out was? It doesn't seem like much incentive to go to the polls. I suspect that there are many Russians who are convinced Putin is just fine.

I don't know but whatever it was, Putin's still a piker! Why back about 20 something years ago Sadaam Hussein walked away with 100% of the vote.

There are times I get the impression from the media that Putin is very unpopular due to the war and sanctions among other things. I've wondered if it's overstated and he still has his core old school followers. You don't hear much about the sanctions these days and I suspect Putin has found a work around for a lot of them. And he's still a piker.

Heck, I got nearly 85% of the vote in our last election, against an incumbent, and he's still alive and healthy.

Yes, but you weren’t into the third year of a war of conquest.
