    Move to Elsah, Illinois

    https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...=srp-list-card

unbelievable low price for 2 charming properties in the tiny quaint river town of Elsah, IL.

i wonder if the price is wrong.

i love love love Elsah, but, …
    1. .it is in the state of Illinois, a problem state
2, it is a tiny burgh and if you aren't Christian Scientist you probably have even more limited social opportunities

Somebody suggested it was so cheap because it sits on the river flats, and it will flood. I suppose that’s true, but both properties have been there for 100 years so far so even though they were flooded, they’re still standing,

One positive of IL is that they don’t tax retirement income.

Maybe the flooding explains the new flooring

They probably can’t get insurance, so that’s why it’s so cheap? I don’t know.

Wow! two houses for $210,000?? Holy cow! And they are both adorable!! Crazy! If I weren't so tied to the NE and had no family, I would jump on that. I could get along with Christian Scientists. I could even become one.

I can see you becoming a Christian scientist. You are a clean living non-hedonistic healthy person! . I don’t think I could become a Christian scientist. Even though I can’t drink at the moment (well, I can’t drink much tho I spent $79 on a bottle of wine yesterday that I plan to savor over several weeks, hope it lasts) I am probably not someone they want in their midst.

I would not want to live in an enclave of these dangerously irrational people, even if the house was free.

i’ve known a few Christian Scientists casually and they are pretty live and let live people. In my city neighborhood we had a son of Elsah who was active in our neighborhood for a while. We had a Christian Science meet up in our tiny business district. Elsah is a strong hold of Christian Science because they run the college up the hill called Principia College. It has stunning architecture. Thevwhole place is like a place time forgot .

but yes, Christian Science isn’t exactly “science. “
