I ask because the way it was written in sounded like they were saying the sub itself was brigading, not you. I don't understand Reddit, how it works, what a sub is, etc.
I believe they DO mean the sub itself is brigading. Others on the Chappelke sub reddit are reporting same banning message.
Reddit is just a space on the internet where anyone can form a discussion forum on any topic. Moderators can set their own guidelines for their sub forums as long as those guidelines don’t conflict with Reddit central’s guidelines. So if they want to ban me for posting on r/ Chappelle forum, they may do that.
So you post on a sub and they don't like the sub so they ban you? Can you still post on the sub, but not other subs? I am not understanding why they don't ban the sub, and no one can post on it, if they deem it out of the guidelines? It seems very odd to me, like are they disapproving of Dave Chappelle and so you are not allowed to post because you wrote about him? But the sub still continues?
not exactly, “they” have no power to ban the Chappelle sub.
I didnt say anything about Dave Chappelle on the entertainment sub where I was banned. I wrote on entirely different topics. That’s why this ban is so WTF.
It’s like: I’m banned from the Simple Living Forum because I post on the Mr. Money Mustache forum. If I’m someone who likes face punching, to moderators here I must be an evil person.
Reddit is made up of thousands of sub forums, each with their own moderators and rules.
Wow.
You post on MMM?? I'm blocking you, IL! Violent face-punching triggers me!!
Seriously, that is over-the-top. We are all retreating into little bubbles of self-concern.
I belong to a.. I don't know what you'd call it... a program, a webpage, a way of life... which used to be called "Optimize" (which I liked ) and now it's called "Heroic" which seems a little overblown to me, but whatever, it's still the same principles and programs which I have benefited from for a number of years. One of their core principles is that we have the opportunity to work towards being "anti-fragile"--which basically means the more life beats you down the higher you rise to the occasion. You condition yourself that way. It feels like the culture is going in entirely the opposite direction, unfortunately.

there are those who predict the “leading your thoughts by your feelings “ way we have been interacting with the world is about ready to run out of steam. There are others who say it’s all so broken it ain’t never going to recover. It’s a crazy world.
I think there will be a societal correction and fairly soon ( within 5 years) but it won’t come back to what it was 10-15 years ago, it will be something different. And maybe that’s OK.
