I like the threads where people post the brands of clothes they wear. I have learned from them not to buy cheap crap.
Anyway, please list stuff your opinions on brands and why. Maybe group by categories

I will start:
Electronics
LIKE: Toshiba laptop - have just had it a few weeks, but seems sturdy
DISLIKE: Sony laptop - bad quality, don't honor warranties, bad customer service, will never buy from them again
Clothes
LIKE: Eddie Bauer - they fit well
LIKE: Lee Jeans - fit well, last long
LIKE: Hanes Worlds Softest Socks - very soft
You guys will have to come up with additional categories
For upscale work clothes: Eileen Fisher (at the outlet or Goodwill!)
For daily wear - Dansko clogs (at Nordstrom Rack)
Columbia brand outdoor clothing. Seems to last me forever and ever. Cheaper stuff - like shorts from Walmart - falls apart right away.
There's an Eileen Fisher outlet somewhere near Seattle? Details please! I am impressed you find EF stuff at Goodwill. I haven't been to the downtown store for years, though we drive past it all the time. Should give it a try.
I also like Eddie Bauer and Lee Jeans. I get both from an outlet store near where my mom/sister live, and they tend to last a long time. I try to buy Lands End, LL Bean and Columbia stuff when I can find it at the thrift store. I've got a pair of Columbia fleece leggings that would have cost $40 new, but I got them for something like $3-4 four years ago, and they are still going strong after almost daily wear every winter. Most of my work clothes are from Ann Taylor Loft, though I find that it is really hit and miss with that brand -- some seasons the latest trends just do NOT suit my body type. But I have a few pairs of pants I have picked up over the past few years that I really like, and they seem to have lasted well.

I like the Ann Taylor and Talbot's I find at the consignment store. For new, its usually Lands End since they have petite sizes. I can only wear summer clothes with LL Bean , otherwise the arms are too long.
Love Victoria Secret bras and underwear. I think they are somewhat over priced, but they seem to last a lot longer.
Eileen Fisher outlet is actually Nordstrom Rack. Southcenter has the best selection.
