    Is Certified Organic Food Necessarily Non-GM Food?

    I'm confused about this. I'm doing my very best to buy organic and non-GM foods, but I've noticed that a lot of certified organics do not also contain the "Non-GM" label. Does anyone know?

    Yes, it's part of the organic standards. Legally organic food has to be non-GMO.

    There have been reports of GMO plants transferring their genes to organic fields in areas where non-organic and organic crops are grown in the same vicinity. But those are the only circumstances I can think of - contamination.
