    Mystery writing reference books?

I've decided to put to paper the mystery book ideas I've had floating around in my head. Does anyone have any recommendations for some good reference books? I'm currently reading Janet Evanovich's "How I Write" and I would like to read some others.

The Writer's Market publishes genre specific how-to books. Good luck! I love a good mystery.

    Books for authors

Don’t Murder your mystery by Chris Roerden

    Writing mysteries by Jan Burke

Elements of mystery fiction, writing the modern whodunit by William Tapply

The weekend novelist writes a mystery by Robert Ray

Murder one: A writer’s guide to homicide by Mauro Corvasce

...and many others. There are books that give technical advice to writers who need to know about police and criminal prosecution procedures.

If you go to Amazon's website and do a keyword search on the phrase “writing mysteries” many titles with good ratings come up.
