Have you read Chris Guillebeau's blog, The Art of Non-Conformity? He is a "travel hacker" and gives explicit instructions on how to travel on frequent flier miles.
I love his blog--it's lots of fun.

Yep, strangely content pretty much describes me.
Paying our mortgage in the first few years of our married life means I was able to finish full time work to stay at home and bring up our children. Even during the hard years when husband experienced layoffs (plural) I only had to work a couple of nights a week. Now he works part time outside home and part time on his own business, and I also work part time from home (minimal hours).
Two oldest children have graduated university and just launching into their adult lives, youngest is still home with us and I now have plenty of time to pursue my own interests as does husband. Life really is good, and all that would make me more content is somehow be able to make a larger contribution to the wider world now that my home duties are lighter. To this end I am in the midst of a major declutter, hoping to create both literal and figurative space for fresh opportunities in my life.
