Tiam, Same here in the Willamette Valley. We've had the baseboard heaters in our apartment turned off at the circuit breaker for years. The one exception in the bathroom. Wet hair and a cold room-eek!

Broke down and turned it on tonight. It is so cold here, about 18 degrees with strong winds. I'm on a very tight budget and try to keep from turning on the heat as long as possible, but when it's this cold it makes my body hurt, and I fear the pipes could freeze as well.
