Very interesting. I also found it interesting that there was an assumption that people were reliving the nicest moments of their lives.
I read The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying many years ago and recall something similar. Not so much the "reliving" part, but that the brain/thoughts/etc. continue for - however long - after the body has ceased. It's been a while, so I really don't remember any other details.
