New job update

In the weeks following my termination, I learned that there were other "mysterious" departures. CFO resigned, the HR manager was let go citing, like me, "performance issues" after 10 years on the job (why that was announced, I'll never know). Other key employees quit leaving the organization literally without successors as the President was ready to retire. So, based on that, I figured this was some way of disguising a layoff/RIF in order not to induce panic because there were rumors circulating about layoffs shortly (as in a couple of weeks) before my departure and organization President was going out of his way to debunk them. Also the fact they would not challenge UE, I went with "laid off" on my job applications.

Given the nonprofit was an HR organization that provided human resources and management support to their member companies made their actions with their own employees seem even more interesting.

Computer stuff dropped off at the UPS Store. Another resume sent out.

I've had to block a few folks on FB. I've been called a "leech" since I'm applying for unemployment again. This from people who were fortunate to not have any employment issues during covid and kept working, all through last spring's lockdown. These folks were on all ends of the political spectrum. Arguments fell on deaf ears - the last time I got unemployment was the early 90s fell on deaf ears and how is it my fault a worldwide pandemic caused the first layoff? Or what about people who own restaurants and weren't allowed to reopen?

Yes, they are pathetic. They would be useless to me for networking as none of them have any connections or experience in my industry.
