    PBS Great American Read

PBS has been hosting a series highlighting what they've determined to be America's most loved books. Regardless of the method, it is an interesting list of all variety of styles, periods, and subjects. I enjoyed browsing the list to see how many I've read and have added a couple to my wish list. I believe there is some voting and there has been some life changing commentaries by ordinary and famous people on video feature I've seen.

That's an interesting list. I've read about two thirds of them. There are some on the list I would like to read, but I won't be rushing out for the Twilight series or Fifty Shade of Gray!

I love this kind of list.. it gives me a way to pick books to read. Years ago, in 2000, when Random House came out with the best novels of the 20th century, I embarked on a mission to get through the list. I never did (seems I barely left the dock--I still have only read 16 on that list), but I did read several classics I had missed over the years.

    Here's their list: https://www.listchallenges.com/moder...00-best-novels

As to the PBS list, I've read 20/100.

Thanks, Roger, I have a list to explore, with a number to read again. Life has been so busy of late that I have neglected my reading.

I really enjoyed the show and the interviews. I was more surprised of many that were not on the list as some that were.

I love lists, too....Catherine, I wish your list had the authors, too.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

Appears to be all novels. Non-fiction books get a little love too.
