Ok, I really like this bc it is 600-700 sq feet rather than that 150 standard in the tiny houses on wheels. I couldn't live in one of those.

This one is officially adorable.

I do have some complaints.
1--I'd want to figure out some way to have a staircase up to the loft and I'd put gables in the loft so it was a real room. I'm not a fan of lofts--seem too cramped.
2--Would not want to be on that busy corner.

Otherwise, I could totally live here.

I love that little house! I have always loved small spaces - so cozy and like being in a womb. Having the little yard in back really helps too.

Yeah that house is the McMansion of the micro-houses, like Tumbleweed, but it's really, clever, and I'm sure more comfortable (600 sq.ft. vs. 120 in the micros).

The fact that they have BOTH a living area AND a sunroom is awesome.. I love the reclaimed vintage features, like the front door, the little corner sink, the stained glass, and the salvaged beadboard. They really add charm. I also liked seeing the kitchen banquette... I recently put a banquette in my kitchen with storage underneath (I made it from stock cabinetry). My kitchen is 70s, and too small for an island, so the banquette does a great job of being that place in the kitchen for people to all squish in and chat.

Despite all the charming features, I think I'd need it to be decorated a bit more monochromatically.. all that color adds to a feeling of clutter in such small spaces. I'd probably do a neutral everywhere, same color, and then just add pop in pillows and wall hangings.

Like that one. If you read the comments a link to her blog is available. Loved the sunroom! Still don't like ladders and I too would bump up the walls in the loft----I'm so over bumping my head on slanted rooflines (like our upstairs - we turned an attic space into a big gathering room (for music and office and movie viewing) and a bedroom. There are two dormers. But the walls start at under 4' and then peak in the center.

I'd like a small house like that with a decent sized shop. I saw the estimates for building those, but wonder how much her appraisal was. (makes me think of some of the old family photo's that showed how the houses got larger, as kids were born)

I'm not sure... I like the size, but it seemed less roomy than houses I've seen with even less square footage. I think because there seemed to be furniture everywhere. I didn't see any "space".

I love that house in the OP. It has Victorian doors and wide woodwork which gives it charm.

Each of our 3 hobby houses are 600 Sq ft or less. Though they will never be finished by us, I would use all of the finish touches that she did EXCEPT for a fireplace. Well, perhaps she has a gas fireplace, I wonder about that. Wood burners are hugely expensive to build and operate.

Bet the design came from http://www.rosschapin.com/. He became well known for "pocket neighborhoods" with these similiar small homes. Floor plans and pictures are on his website.

Actually, according to her blog here: http://littlehouselr.blogspot.com/ the house plans came from here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13664360@N08/ (original link found in the comments of the video).
