View Full Version : Yet another tiny house- this one has no sleeping loft.

I think this one has a clever use of both space and multiple functionality for items. The table can be at different heights and in 4 different places in the floor so it can be a kitchen island, coffee table, dining table and desk. The stools all fold together as one unit when you aren't using them.

The thing I like most is the pull out bed. No ladders to be climbing up and down in the middle of the night. There isn't enough storage for me to make this anything but a weekend place. And it would be hard to have sleepover guests, unless you put an inflatable mattress in that elevated "office" area, but they'd have to be people really close to you.

so that bed pulls out from under the office area, right? That seems clever, I'm just not sure how high the step UP into the office is. I mean, it has to be a step up, right?

That built in seating is uncomfortable. If the house didn't have to be portage with things being held in place, I
l just buy regular furniture.

I love tiny houses/living places. This place is not bad, but:
- no storage space, way too spare and magazine-ish tidy - where's the food storage, garden stuff, clothing space?
- sleeping quarters should be a loft under the roofe.

Small places need to be designed like ship cabins or submarines - multi-use spaces, every nook and cranny used.

Cute! Love the Spartan look of it and the fact that it has more windows then storage (us minimalists don't need no stinkin' storage :-)!). Couch looks very uncomfortable though so I'd rather have something smaller with a couple of end tables (or maybe just a couple of recliner-type arm chairs with a table in between). Otherwise very doable for someone like me. Of course the important question is - where's the bathroom? I might be a Spartan minimalist but I want an indoor bathroom.

Incredibly functional! Did you see all the different ways the furniture can pull out? And the storage under the couch? Very sleek! I'm not usually for the ultra-modern look but I think you have to be very streamlined to live in such a small house, and I think this does it well.

There's a 5 foot closet in the "office" and a wet bath with an incinolet toilet on the other side of the office. Here's the floor plan: http://minimhomes.com/floor/ As far as food storage, that's what all the mason jars are for on either side of the sink.

I just love these kind of houses. I was wondering about the office area, too. The floor of it seems to be approximately the same height as the seating/guest bed, so I would need some kind of step or two to get up there.

What I really want is to see inside the other little houses there.

Very inspiring even though waaaaay too modern and (at least seemingly) uncomfortable for my taste.

The main and first thing I would change though is the bed / sleeping area which in my opinion should not be a pull-out type. If it's used regularly, the mattress and duvet really need to ventilate.

Lots of neat little features. I like the dish drying/storage drawer, and the in-counter cook top. Pretty cool.

This is one of the nicer tiny houses I've seen lately! I love all the windows and all the little storage ideas.

The design seems only for a single person. For two people living in a space there should be a place for one to sleep while the other is not sleeping, or the ability to have two rooms separated by whatever..curtain, etc.

I like it, and I think lots of the ideas are great, like the wet bathroom, and storage under the couch. But it's about $70,000 for a completed unit. Sorry, Jay Shafer of Tumbleweed is still the winner for tiny, affordable home design.
